Paul Bennett Bishop
With a career spanning three decades at the intersection of international trade and private capital, Paul has been the primary architect for some of Southern Africa’s most significant investment projects.
Some of his achievements include:
EU National Counsellor (1998–2004): Appointed as the National Counsellor for Southern Africa on the EU Europartenariat Programme, overseeing the strategic international alignment and investment into hundreds of Southern Africa enterprises.
Elected as the International Partnership and Trade Technical Advisor to the EU Trade and Investment Development Programme and the EU SADC Investment Promotion Programme.
Directly facilitated the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) of automotive giants Peugeot and Citroën into South Africa.
Raised over $300 million in developement funding for global mining project focused on Mozambique.
Set up the EU-SADC Business Forum.
Ecosystem Builder: Co-founded the Global Business Accelerator in partnership with the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Standard Bank, and the German Business Development Agency (GIZ).
Worked with European Development Finance Partners on several Southern African and Eastern Europe projects.
